About Us

Community First Responders are volunteers who live and/or work within local communities, trained by the Ambulance Service so that they can attend critically ill patients in advance of an emergency ambulance.

More commonly known as CFRs. On the 19th November 2024 West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that a scheme could be established within Burton on Trent.

The scheme became operational on the 15th July 2025. This has only been possible through the very kind support of a number of people and organisations.

The wife of the late Dr David Anderson kindly donated the funds for the purchase of our response vehicle, in memory of his extensive involvement in healthcare locally.
